VIP to Support Transition Phase of CA Medicaid Management Information System (CA-MMIS)

FOLSOM, CA--(Marketwired - May 23, 2013) - Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP) was awarded a $3.71 million contract to provide the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) with transition management support services as it upgrades the 30-year-old California Medicaid Management Information System (CA-MMIS).

VIP will support state staff in transitioning to the Design, Development and Implementation (DDI) phase of the CA-MMIS project.

"Last September, we began providing project management oversight to the CA-MMIS replacement project," said Jeff Mullins, VIP's chief operations officer of state and local governments and commercial markets. "We're excited to further develop our relationship with DHCS while also expanding our footprint in the MMIS space."

CA-MMIS processes payments to medical providers for 7.2 million Medi-Cal beneficiaries.

"This is one of the largest and most complex State of California projects," said VIP Founder and CEO Jonna Ward. "We're proud to have been chosen to continue supporting DHCS in their efforts to make CA-MMIS more effective."
