Viptela Sees Strong Momentum With Fortune-100 Customer Win and 30 Fortune-500 Enterprises Entering Production Pilot Phase

Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) Startup Doubles in Size, Expands to EMEA and Asia, and Adds Strong Channel Partners to Support Growing Global and Vertical Industry Demand

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 21, 2014) - Viptela, Inc., a software-centric networking company, today announced strong mid-year results characterized by Fortune-500 customer growth, global and vertical market expansion, new partnerships, and doubling in size in the last 12 months.

Strong Customer Traction
Viptela recently closed a multi-million dollar deal with a Fortune-100 healthcare company that selected Viptela to build its next-generation software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN). In addition, Viptela has built a strong pipeline with more than 30 Fortune-500 enterprises investing in proof-of-value production pilots for its Secure Extensible Network (SEN) architecture.

Expanded Go-to-Market Strategy
To address growing global customer demand, Viptela has opened offices in APAC and EMEA and has expanded its direct sales and marketing activities beyond financial services, healthcare and retail to also include high-tech and cloud providers. To bolster its support in each of these new markets, Viptela secured five new strategic go-to-market partners over the last quarter.

Company Growth and Innovation
In the past year the company has doubled in size, attracting top talent from technology giants including Cisco, VMware, Alcatel-Lucent as well as several high-profile startups. This highly respected group of industry veterans has helped Viptela continue to innovate on its SEN architecture, supporting new use-cases and build capabilities such as zero-touch provisioning and application-aware routing.

"Our company's founding belief that legacy network architectures are in desperate need of innovation is validated on a weekly basis as Fortune-500 enterprises look to Viptela to transform their SD-WANs," said Amir Khan, CEO of Viptela. "It is heartening to see the WAN finally keep pace with new business requirements. We ensure that modern enterprises have the network architecture they need to excel now and in the future."
