Virgin Technologies Signs 5-Year Pipeline Deal

EDMONTON, AB--(Marketwired - July 06, 2015) - Virgin Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce an exclusive five-year deal with a major pipeline company in the Canadian midstream oil and gas industry. While confidential, the deal will see Virgin Technologies providing more than 60 satellite antennas with monthly data connectivity as part of the customer's comprehensive supervisory and data acquisition (SCADA) solution. "This pipeline deal is fundamentally a testament to our ability to work closely with customers and tailor solutions based on unparalleled service," notes Virgin Technologies President Robert Smibert.

The agreement imposes strict reporting and service measures on Virgin Technologies Inc., reflective of the company's unique ability to respond rapidly to any threat or downtime to the availability of its network services. As an iDirect teleport owner and operator, the customers SCADA solution leverages Virgin Technologies' 24/7/365 network operators centre (NOC), which provides monitored remote support for pipeline operations, coupled with field technician's service in the case of an emergency. Virgin Technologies NOC also provides advance network warnings, maintaining continuous monitoring of data, along with daily updates to the customer if the network is unavailable at any time during operations.

In business since 2001, Virgin Technologies Inc., has developed a reputation as a reliable communications partner in the often volatile oil and gas sector.
