Virginia Hardee's Raise More Than $70,000 for Special Olympics

RICHMOND, VA--(Marketwired - Nov 6, 2014) - Hardee's® restaurants across the state owned and operated by Boddie-Noell Enterprises recently raised more than $70,000 for Special Olympics Virginia. The When You Give, We All Win annual fundraiser invited Virginia Hardee's customers to purchase stars for $1 or $5 in exchange for a sheet of menu coupons. The in-restaurant fundraiser raised $70,410 which will help send more than 460 athletes to the 2015 Special Olympics Virginia Summer Games.

Boddie-Noell Enterprises, the largest Hardee's franchise operator in the United States, has been partners with Special Olympics Virginia for 34 years, contributing more than $1 million to the organization over that time. Boddie-Noell owns and operates nearly 180 Hardee's restaurant locations across Virginia.

"Our thanks go to our loyal guests and restaurant teams who this fall once again supported Special Olympics Virginia," said Jerry Allsbrook, chief marketing officer for Boddie-Noell Enterprises and board member for Special Olympics Virginia. "It's wonderful to help generate the funds to send so many athletes to Summer Games."

In addition to the 2014 fall fundraiser, Boddie-Noell will sponsor the 2015 Polar Plunge® Winter Festival in Virginia Beach on Feb. 6-7 and the Summer Games in Richmond on June 12-13.

"Our athletes face a number of foes and opponents each day but none is more pervasive than low expectations," said Special Olympics Virginia President, Rick Jeffrey. "Boddie-Noell's hands-on support of events like Polar Plunge and Summer Games shows their commitment to celebrating what our athletes and communities can achieve when we play and live unified."
