Virginia Land, Streams, Woodland, Pastures and a Classic Frame Farmhouse to Sell in Oct. 22 Auction

BOTETOURT, VA--(Marketwire - September 24, 2010) - Botetourt County's Meredith Farm -- a 537-acre property with pastures, mountain views, streams, a pond, woodland and a classic frame house built around 1880 -- will sell at auction Friday, Oct. 22, with Woltz & Associates managing the sale.

The property will be offered in six tracts ranging from 62 to 182 acres each, and will sell absolute, with no minimum or reserve, according to Jim Woltz, president of Woltz & Associates, the auction company managing the sale.

"Because this farm is selling absolute, buyers can come in with a distinct advantage," Woltz said. "Essentially, they can set their own price for all or part of this property, which means they can get some great land at an excellent price. Because we're selling in tracts, bidders may bid on any combination or the entirety."

The property, which is approximately 60 percent pasture and 40 percent woodland, also has a two-bedroom tenant house, barns and farm buildings, and a concrete silo.

"This property presents a unique mix of modern convenience and old world charm," Woltz said. "It's only minutes from historic Fincastle, and is convenient to US 220, I-81, and Roanoke Regional Airport. And yet, it offers the seclusion people desire in a private estate or retreat."

Personal property will also be included in the auction, with a variety of antiques and farm equipment offered prior to the bidding on the land.

The auction will take place at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, at the Greenfield Education and Training Center in Daleville, Va. Woltz representatives will be available to offer inspections on Saturday, Oct. 9, and Sunday, Oct. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. Individuals seeking further information may contact the auction company at (800) 551-3588 or visit
