Virginia Tech Renews Its Partnership With Paciolan

IRVINE, CA and BLACKSBURG, VA--(Marketwire - Jun 17, 2011) - Paciolan, the leading provider of ticketing, marketing, and fundraising solutions in college athletics, announced today that Virginia Tech has renewed its partnership with the company. Virginia Tech will continue to leverage Paciolan's online and digital ticketing services to enable fans to purchase tickets through its athletics website, www.hokiesports.com. Virginia Tech has been working with Paciolan since 1991.

"Our partnership with Paciolan has allowed us to develop a very efficient and effective online ticketing process for our students, donors and season ticket holders," said Sandy Smith, assistant athletics director of ticket services. "Paciolan understands our needs and knows what it takes to accomplish our goals. That makes for a great partnership."

Virginia Tech is one of the nation's leading universities in offering convenient online services for fans. With more than 32,000 season ticket holders, and 11,000 student tickets for football, Virginia Tech provides a convenient process for these fans to purchase and renew their tickets online. More than 62 percent of all season ticket holders renewed online last season, while 100 percent of students receive tickets via print-at-home delivery.

"Our online ticketing system gives fans the ability to do things at their convenience, not ours," Smith said. "In return, we've been able to sell more tickets and fill more seats. It's a win-win for fans and the university."

Using Paciolan's digital ticketing system, Virginia Tech allows fans to transfer unused tickets to friends or family online. Virginia Tech is also working with Paciolan's partner, StubHub, to enable fans to resell unused tickets or buy premium tickets that would otherwise be unavailable. Through the integrated service, which was rolled out for basketball last season, each ticket purchased through StubHub generates a guaranteed valid, print-at-home ticket that is emailed to the fan.

"It's exciting to see the growth and success that Virginia Tech has achieved through our long-term partnership," said Dave Butler, chief executive officer of Paciolan. "We look forward to continuing to help their athletics department achieve its goals now and into the future."
