AKRON, OH--(Marketwire - Sep 18, 2012) - Virtual Hold Technology (VHT®), a world leader in bridging the gap between customers and customer service help, hosted a reception and tour for government and business leaders at its new, 24,000 square-foot headquarters at 3875 Embassy Parkway in Fairlawn. Visitors included JobsOhio President Mark Kvamme, who heads up Ohio's business development efforts, and other regional business and education leaders.
"Ohio's reputation as a leader in the technology sector is growing on both a national and international scale," Kvamme said. "What they're doing here at VHT is a great example of the talent and innovation we need more of in our state."
VHT CEO Wes Hayden congratulated Kvamme on Ohio's job growth, which has exceeded that of most other states. He thanked Ohio Governor John Kasich and Kvamme for supporting Ohio's growing information technology and software development industry, noting that it is targeted as a key growth sector by JobsOhio. Hayden said Ohio is a great place to locate a technology business and that all of Ohio benefits from information technology advances because they provide other industries with competitive advantages that keep the U.S. at the vanguard of the world economy.
Hayden also commended the Ohio Public Employees' Retirement System (OPERS), the State Teachers Retirement System (STERS) and the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services (ODJFS) for their commitment to use information technology to cost-effectively improve service to Ohio taxpayers.
VHT, with more than 110 employees, develops virtual queuing solutions that reduce or eliminate hold time for callers while cutting toll costs and other expenses. VHT's state installations saved Ohio residents more than 200 years of telephone hold time between January, 2010 and December, 2011.
"People today live in-the-moment and they communicate while they are on-the-go or multi-tasking," Hayden said. "There is a new bar for customer satisfaction. Important state departments and Ohio-based businesses such as Fifth-Third Bank, Nationwide Insurance and many others, have been leaders in improving the experiences of those they serve."
