Virtual Instruments Names George Harrington Chief Financial Officer

Harrington Brings Extensive Public Company Finance Experience to the Virtual Infrastructure Optimization Leader


SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 28, 2011) - Virtual Instruments, a leader in storage area network (SAN) and virtual infrastructure optimization solutions, today announced that George Harrington has joined the company in the role of CFO. He is responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting at the company.

Prior to joining Virtual Instruments, Harrington served as vice president of finance and chief accounting officer at Symantec, where he led the accounting, financial planning, and customer operations back office functions. Prior to this role, he served as CFO for software solutions provider BMC Software, where he drove the successful completion of several key milestones, including a significantly improved cost structure. He has also served in a variety of senior financial roles for IBM, including vice president of finance for the IBM Software Group. Harrington holds a bachelor's degree in political science and an MBA from Brigham Young University.
