TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - May 3, 2007) - Vishwa Nirmala Dharma Educational Society is holding a free large-scale meditation workshop. This public program will give a clear explanation of the chakras, kundalini and their connection to the nervous system. The workshop will involve a simple guided meditation to awaken the kundalini energy. In addition to the workshop, there will be a live performance of Indian music. This annual program will be held Wednesday, May 16 at 7:00pm, North York Civic Centre, 5100 Yonge St. Details: www.sahajayoga.ca.

Sahaja Yoga was founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. www.sahajayoga.org/ShriMataji. The kundalini awakening experience, also called 'self-realization', triggers a unique sensitivity on the nervous system by which one becomes aware of the state of the chakras within the subtle body. Through this awareness the practitioners can bring themselves into a state of balance.
