Vision Point of Sale Proudly Implements Green Packing Initiative for a Cleaner World

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - July 7, 2008) - Vision Point of Sale is proudly implementing environmentally friendly packing initiatives for a cleaner world. Vision Point of Sale is a world leader in certified, pre-owned, and new POS solutions to major retail corporations. As an industry leader, Vision is dedicated to streamlining procedures for a greener environment while offering top of the line, affordable POS equipment.

Vision Point of Sale has long embraced environmental responsibility by helping customers recycle, refurbish, and maintain existing POS equipment. Now Vision Point of Sale has implemented a new greener packing process to match. By switching from Styrofoam packaging to recycled and reusable paper packaging, Vision Point of Sale cut packaging usage by an estimated 50 percent. The packaging is reusable & recyclable by both the customer and Vision Point of Sale. All cardboard material at Vision Point of Sale is recycled and even further paper is saved by internal IT upgrades that allow a near paperless office.

Vision Point of Sale offers a variety of new POS systems along side their increasingly popular refurbished POS systems and maintenance programs. Previously, retailers were only interested in the new POS systems by IBM, Dell, Epson, VeriFone, Cherry, Fujitsu, NCR, Axiohm and Symbol. As more businesses become environmentally conscious, the demand to upgrade POS equipment and purchase used POS systems has increased. According to Frank Muscarello of Vision: "With rising overhead and the desire for corporations to reach their goals in an environmentally friendly fashion, demand has increased dramatically for our maintenance and service plans."

As of June, Vision recycled over 250 pallets of material for the year including CRT monitors, plastics, and electronics. All components were properly disposed of according to environmental regulations. Vision also keeps functional POS systems out of landfills by refurbishing and recertifying the equipment. Retailers save money while going green by extending the life of older POS systems.

Efficient POS equipment reduces the cost of goods by gathering important statistics and ensuring the accuracy of all transactions to save the store and customer money.
