Visionary Integration Professionals Gives Back to Wind Youth Services, Supports Homeless Youth

SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 27, 2012) - Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP) recently acted as the diamond underwriting sponsor of the Summer Soiree charity event that benefited Wind Youth Services (Wind), a Sacramento-based organization dedicated to providing safety and shelter to homeless youth.

According to the Sacramento County Office of Education's Project TEACH, there are over 3,000 homeless youth in Sacramento. The proceeds from the first annual Summer Soiree charity event will allow Wind to contribute to the basic needs of the underprivileged local children, ages 11-22.

"The over $50,000 raised at last Friday's Summer Soiree will assist Wind Youth Services in their continued efforts to provide shelter, meals, programs and services to the homeless and at-risk youth we serve in the Sacramento area," said Sher Barber, CEO and Executive Director of Wind Youth Services / Diogenes Youth Services.

VIP, a global management consulting and technology solutions firm headquartered in Folsom, is consistently active in its community involvement, due in great part to the generosity of owner and CEO, Jonna Ward.

"Giving back is the glue that binds us. Wind Youth Services leads the way with its commitment to help Sacramento youth move from crisis to independence and healthy functioning," said Ward. "VIP and I personally are proud to participate and look forward to sponsoring the event again next year."

"I really appreciate Jonna's warm-hearted support of so many of our community's organizations, and particularly this event for Wind," said Scott Gregory, board member of Wind Youth Services and VIP's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Gregory, also a major sponsor, opened his home to host the event, with pro bono event planning provided by longtime Diogenes Youth Services / Wind supporter, Kristin Wittenberg.

Several local restaurants also supported the cause by providing top notch catering, including Mikuni Sushi, The Kitchen, Ella, Lemon Grass, Star Ginger, Selland's Market-Café and Sam's Hof Brau.

"Mikuni has a long history of local community involvement and Wind Youth Services is doing an amazing job supporting our youth," said Jeanne Mabry, Vice President of Marketing at Mikuni Restaurant Group, Inc. "We were very proud to be asked to participate in the Summer Soiree fundraiser and plan to continue our involvement next year."

Guests were treated to cocktails, dancing, a silent auction, and appearances by local celebrity chefs, including Randal Selland of The Selland Group, Taro Arai of Mikuni, and Executive Chef Pedro Tirado of Sam's Hof Brau.

The event was so successful that Wind Youth Services is already looking forward to the second annual Summer Soiree. Visit their website at windyouth.org to learn how to contribute to the continued support of Sacramento's homeless youth.
