Today, the Calgary-based engineering firm is pleased to announce that Richard Campbell, Managing Principal, is a recipient of Oilweek Magazine's 2009 Rising Star Awards, a distinction bestowed each year to just 20 men and women under the age of 45 across Canada who work in the oil and natural gas business. The Rising Stars Awards were established to showcase the brightest, most talented professionals in the industry.

"We are proud to honour Richard Campbell as one of Calgary's brightest stars through our second annual Rising Stars awards," says Dale Lunan, Editor, Oilweek Magazine. "Based on his achievements in the oil and gas industry and in the community, Richard is a young leader to watch."

Campbell joined Vista Projects in 2003 and has since played a pivotal role at the firm, which specializes in thermal energy projects in the Canadian oilsands industry. Initially hired as an analyst, Campbell has progressed through the organization, eventually leading teams and managing project costs and schedules for projects up to $500 million. In 2007, Campbell was promoted to his current role where he is responsible for ensuring sustainable growth, operational efficiency and continuing Vista's goal of being the leading technical engineering company in Western Canada.

In addition, Campbell is also a member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE).

All Rising Star's were selected not only for their professional achievements, but also for the impact they make in the community. During one-on-one coaching sessions, he focuses on helping individuals to achieve their goals, communicates issues in the market, and matches their skills with potential job opportunities.
