Vital Signs Announces New Senior Executive

TOTOWA, NJ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 23, 2005 -- VITAL SIGNS, INC. (NASDAQ: VITL) today announced that it has appointed George Solomon as its Senior Vice President - International.

Mr. Solomon joins Vital Signs from his last position as President U.S.A. and Corporate Chief Operating Officer of Visionsense Ltd., a medical device company specializing in the development of innovative solutions for minimally invasive surgery. Mr. Solomon has lived and worked in Europe for a number of years, where he has held executive positions with several recognized world-wide leaders in the medical device field, including having held the position of Corporate Director Business Development and Strategic Planning for Allied Signal Health and Scientific Products; Vice President and General Manager of Dynarad Corp., the medical device subsidiary of Del Global Technologies; and General Manager of the medical division of Fujinon, Inc.

Mr. Solomon speaks a number of foreign languages fluently, and in addition to having lived and worked in Europe, he has worked in Brazil and the Middle East. He holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Columbia University, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, has done course work towards an MD degree with emphasis on biochemistry and microbiology at the State University of Rome, Italy and has graduated the Management Program for Emerging Companies sponsored by the Technion Institute of Management, Haifa, Israel. He lives in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, with his wife and daughter.
