Vital Tool to Warn of Hard Drives at Risk

BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - October 8, 2008) - Being able to spot trouble before it occurs is always a good thing. Airplanes have instruments that inform the pilot of altitude, attitude and even the proximity of other aircrafts. Cars have gauges that alert the driver if the vehicle is low on fuel or oil, if the engine is overheating, and nowadays even if tires are low on air. Weather stations have instrumentation that can spot severe storms many miles away, often saving entire towns.

The builders of computers have instituted trouble warnings as well. Pop-up messages warn of hardware problems, utilities such as Windows® Task Manager allow monitoring of performance, application resource usage and networks, and other utilities exist to monitor and warn of other problems.

Unfortunately, there is no native utility to warn of file fragmentation levels on hard drives showing danger of decreasing disk performance and even the risk of hard drive failure. Diskeeper® Corporation, developers of Diskeeper automatic defragmentation solutions, has filled this gap with a product called Disk Performance Analyzer for Networks™.

Disk Performance Analyzer for Networks is a stand-alone utility that detects and reports fragmentation-related performance loss on networked systems. It allows IT personnel and system administrators to identify performance bottlenecks, scan systems from one access point, and pinpoint system problems before they become help desk headaches -- without having to run painstaking manual analysis on each system.

Additional features of the product include the ability to create custom groups for easy management, to select systems to scan through the Active Directory or IP addresses, and to run scheduled reports and have the results emailed.

Disk Performance Analyzer will warn you of problems and dangers missed by other utilities, and allow you to quickly take corrective actions. Download it free of charge from the Diskeeper web site at http://www.diskeeper.com
