Vitamin C Selected by Alpharetta-Based Emergence, Georgia Medical Accelerator, for Its First Acceleration Session

ALPHARETTA, GA--(Marketwired - Jun 9, 2015) - Health information technology company Vitamin C has been selected to join the first cohort of companies in Emergence, a health information technology and medtech business accelerator located in Alpharetta, Georgia. Vitamin C will be focusing on reaching "investable" status by the completion of Emergence's 12-week Business Acceleration Program.

Vitamin C provides a software-based "communication supplement" (hence the name Vitamin C) to physician practices and other patient-centric organizations to increase revenue through the automated identification, contact and engagement of patients eligible for additional services, screenings and procedures.

"Vitamin C's position in the company development lifecycle is squarely in the sweet spot of Emergence's target company recruiting profile -- beyond the incubator stage, with a developed product, beginning commercialization," said Chris Hooper, CEO of Emergence. "Vitamin C is changing the way health is managed and Emergence is preparing them to succeed. Emergence is dedicated to accelerating companies in Georgia to build the state's economy, enhance metro Atlanta's leadership position in health technologies and create high-end jobs for Georgia's college and technical school graduates."

"I am thrilled to be joining Emergence, Georgia's up-and-coming HIT and medtech accelerator," said Vitamin C CEO, Osama Hashmi. "In our first few weeks in the business acceleration program we have benefited first-hand from seasoned mentors and Emergence staff who are solidifying our company's positioning for our customers and investors. It truly excites me to be getting the help Emergence is providing so that we can take the next steps towards successful commercialization."

About Emergence
Emergence is a Georgia nonprofit corporation (EmergenceGMA, Inc.), created to accelerate medtech and health information technologies. Emergence conducts two Business Acceleration Program sessions (or batches) each year. Emergence looks for "post incubator" HIT and medtech companies having a disruptive technology; addressing a large patient, provider or payer market; with dedicated leadership teams having the ability to come to Alpharetta/Atlanta for the 12-week program. Emergence is now accepting applications for the next cohort/program. Even if a company is not within Emergence's target development stage, the organization offers an Affiliate Company program that helps applicant companies prepare themselves for future admission to the acceleration program. Emergence is sponsored by leading Georgia healthcare-centric companies such as Jackson Healthcare and Halyard Health. For more information, please visit www.emergencegma.org or www.getvitaminc.com
