VIENNA, VA--(Marketwire - Apr 26, 2011) -

  • Contract expands the use of ViTelCare T400 in-home management system among veterans with chronic conditions, PTSD, substance abuse and other conditions
  • ViTelCare is a provider of innovative home telehealth systems to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) since 2004

Visual Telecommunication Network, Inc. (ViTelCare), a provider of in-home telehealth systems, announced today that it was awarded a new contract for the ViTelCare Home Health Monitor product line by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The ViTelCare home telehealth product line, which provides in-home management of patients, has been used by the VA since 2004. The contract represents a continued relationship with the VA and was one of six contracts awarded following a competitive bid and procurement process.

"The award of our ViTelCare contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the planned roll-out of telehealth in the next years is further confirmation of the benefits that home telehealth can have in our healthcare system," said Marie Mann, national government sales director at ViTelCare. "ViTelCare is dedicated to advancing the connectivity between patients and their healthcare professionals. Through home telehealth monitoring, with the proven T400 system, healthcare providers have the opportunity to intervene before the patient's condition becomes critical, potentially improving quality of care while simultaneously reducing costs."

About the ViTelCare T400 Home Health Monitor
In use for more than 5 years, ViTelCare T400 Home Health Monitor supports the safety and well-being of patients with congestive heart failure, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), and others, as well as many combinations of these conditions. The ViTelCare T400 is an in-home monitoring system that alerts a patient's healthcare provider of potential health problems before they become critical. These alerts are issued when a patient's vital statistics fall outside the parameters established by their healthcare professional. The T400 monitor securely transmits patient data, automatically or manually, multiple times a day and offers patients an easy to use touch screen interface and audio enabled health assessment question and answer choices. By providing a daily assessment of the patient's vital signs and symptoms, the monitors alert care providers to potential health problems and help identify patients who may need additional care, thereby reducing emergency situations. The system offers a broad range of disease management programs, including common co-morbid combinations, which are easily tailored to accommodate a patient's unique healthcare needs.
