Viterra Appoints Senior Vice President of Agri-Products

REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Dec. 12, 2007) - Viterra (TSX:VT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Doug Wonnacott, who joins Viterra's executive management team, effective December 17, 2007, as Senior Vice President, Agri-products, based in Regina, Saskatchewan. He replaces Doug Weinbender, who retired earlier this year.

Mr. Wonnacott comes to Viterra with an extensive background in strategic planning and supply chain management as a senior executive in the agri-products and chemical manufacturing industries. Since 2006, Doug served as Vice President and Director of Crop Nutrients for Agriliance, LLC in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, an agronomy joint venture owned by Land O'Lakes, Inc. and CHS, Inc. He was instrumental in the turnaround of Agriliance's fertilizer distribution business and most recently supported the divestment of its Crop Nutrients business to CHS Inc.

Doug joined Agriliance in 2003 as Vice President of Supply and was responsible for the supply chain management of fertilizer, agricultural chemicals and business services for fertilizer facilities, manufacturing sites and Canadian retail sites.

"I am pleased to welcome Doug Wonnacott to our senior executive team. His years of experience and extensive background in the agri-products industry will be important in leading our company's platform for growth in this core business," said Viterra's Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Fran Malecha.

Mr. Wonnacott began his career in the chemical industry as a market analyst in 1981. Throughout his career, he has held increasingly responsible positions and has successfully established trading relationships in the international supply market. He completed a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing and International Business at the Richard Ivey School of Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario.
