Viterra Contributes $75,000 Towards New Zealand Earthquake Rescue and Relief


CALGARY, ALBERTA and ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 24, 2011) - Viterra Inc. (TSX:VT) (ASX:VTA) announced today a donation of $75,000 in support of the ongoing rescue and relief efforts in Christchurch, New Zealand, following a major earthquake on Tuesday, February 22. The donation will go to the New Zealand Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Appeal. 

Viterra employs approximately 115 people in its New Zealand operations, which include four feed mills, two maize processing plants and several bulk commodity stores. Only minor damages occurred to the mill and one of the bulk commodity stores that are located near Christchurch.

The Company is known for generously supporting communities in need through its corporate social responsibility program. Mayo Schmidt, President and Chief Executive Officer said: "The enormity of what has happened to Christchurch is drawing people together across the world to bring help and support to the city and surrounding areas."
