Viterra Partners with Western Canada Farm Progress Show

REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - March 26, 2008) - Viterra (TSX:VT), Canada's leading agri-business, and the Western Canada Farm Progress Show announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement today that will see Viterra become the event's Presenting Sponsor for the 2008 and 2009 shows. Officials representing the two organizations called the sponsorship an excellent fit.

"The partnership builds on longstanding relationships that were established with Viterra's former companies, Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Inc. and Agricore United," said Mark Allan, President and CEO of IPSCO Place, home to the Western Canada Farm Progress Show. "This is a partnership of two organizations, both homegrown success stories, now making an international impact in the agri-business sector. The Show is a well-recognized Regina-based event with a strong international scope."

Allan said the partnership with Viterra is another example of Saskatchewan private sector companies like IPSCO, Brandt and Saskatchewan Credit Unions choosing IPSCO Place as a venue to showcase their brands. "IPSCO Place is one of the most significant event complexes in the country and we're extremely pleased Viterra has partnered with us."

"It is a partnership that is consistent with our new company's direction to be the leader in agri-business. We are the largest grain handling and agri-products company in Canada, with a network of complementary businesses that serve thousands of farm customers. We are proud to participate in this premier agricultural event and to assist in making it the best show for all those attending, including our farm customers, international visitors, and exhibitors," said Viterra's President and CEO Mayo Schmidt.

Western Canada Farm Progress Show is Canada's National Farm Show and one of the top agricultural events in the world. It is the largest dryland farm technology and equipment show in Canada, with more than 40,000 people from 30 countries coming to Regina. Over 700 exhibitors and more than 1.4 million square feet of exhibit space have made the show an important venue for agricultural buyers, sellers, producers and exporters.

Viterra Inc., is Canada's leading agri-business, with extensive operations and distribution capabilities across Western Canada, and with operations in the United States and Japan. The new company is diversified into sales of crop input services and ag equipment, grain handling and marketing, livestock feed, agri-food processing and financial products. These operations are complemented by value-added businesses and strategic alliances, which allow Viterra to leverage its pivotal position between Prairie farmers and destination customers. The Company's common shares are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol VT.
