Viterra Sponsorship Brings 2012 Canadian Gymnastics Championships to Regina

REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Oct. 27, 2011) - Viterra Inc. (TSX:VT) (ASX:VTA)

Jean-Paul Caron, President & CEO of Gymnastics Canada, announced today that the 2012 Viterra Canadian Gymnastics Championships will be held in Regina, May 21-26, 2012.

At a news conference held today in Regina to launch the event, Klara Miller, CEO of Gymnastics Saskatchewan and Chair of the 2012 Canadian Gymnastics Championships said, "Viterra's title sponsorship is another example of this company's deep commitment to Saskatchewan, to healthy lifestyles and to contributing to positive social outcomes in the community." She added that the Gymnastics Saskatchewan management committee was hard at work and hoped to recruit 800 volunteers to help manage the week-long event.

"Our title sponsorship of the Canadian Gymnastics Championships is a natural fit for Viterra, given our position as a global supplier of healthy food ingredients that meet the nutritional needs of people around the world. Our employees are committed to healthy lifestyles, with many of them involved in sport and fitness. We look forward to this event being a great success," said Mayo Schmidt, Viterra's President and CEO.

More than 1,100 athletes, coaches and officials will travel to Regina to compete for the right to be considered the best gymnasts in Canada. Several athletes in attendance will be building toward an appearance in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England. All four disciplines will be participating: women's artistic gymnastics, men's artistic gymnastics, tumbling & trampoline and rhythmic gymnastics.

Several Team Saskatchewan gymnasts are expected to compete at the 2012 Viterra Canadian Gymnastics Championships. These dedicated athletes--all students--often train 25 or more hours each week throughout the year. The athletes have strength, balance, agility, flexibility, poise, determination and, above all, athleticism and sportsmanship.
