Vivo Celebrates Culture and Diversity With Friends From the Community

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - October 01, 2016) - Vivo is hosting its 6th Annual CULTURE EXPO on October 1, 2016 as part of the province-wide celebration of Alberta Culture Days. This is a great opportunity to celebrate Alberta arts and culture, bringing together performers, artists and food lovers from the local ethno-cultural community.

Vivo CEO Cynthia Watson will be joined by Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ricardo Miranda and Calgary Northern Hills MLA Jamie Kleinsteuber for the festivities.

"Alberta Culture Days is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our province's heritage, arts community, volunteerism and so much more," states Minister Miranda. "It's also an opportunity to acknowledge the significant role culture plays in our economy, as it creates jobs, attracts skilled workers, generates economic activity and revitalizes communities."

The event runs from 10 am - 2 pm and will include performances from youth groups and local cultural heritage groups such as Cree 8, Metis Nation of Alberta, Mo Fan Tai Chi Wushu Academy, Quilla Latin Dance, Young Bhangra, the Brazilian Community Association of Alberta and more.

"Vivo celebrates diversity, community and the common thread that unites us all," said CEO, Cynthia Watson. "Embracing our differences through varied art, culture and creativity further strengthens us as a community."
