VMC Strengthens Global Footprint with Toronto Technical Support and Call Center Location

TORONTO--(CCNMatthews - Oct 6, 2005) -

New Facility Offers Both Canadian and International Businesses Affordable, Customized Technical Support Outsourcing Options

VMC, a worldwide leader in technology services and support, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. (NYSE: VOL), today announced the opening of a state-of-the-art support center in Toronto. In this facility, VMC provides customer contact and technology support services to U.S., Canadian and international businesses.

The VMC Toronto facility has capacity for approximately 650 enterprise software and support engineers and technicians who provide in-depth analysis and support of Microsoft® enterprise software and technologies including Exchange Server, SQL Server, and Windows products and networking technologies.

"Toronto is an ideal location offering exceptional geographic convenience for U.S. businesses and cost efficiencies uniquely associated with Canada's business economy," said Glenn Halstead, managing director of VMC Customer Contact Solutions. "We currently have 400 support staff in place and expect to make additional technical support hires in the coming months as business develops."

According to Halstead, VMC identified Toronto as an attractive locale for a support center due to the existing and potential business opportunities and proximity to the North American market.

VMC Canada provides "near shore" outsourcing convenience and flexibility to U.S.-based businesses. VMC Canada teams will work in multiple shifts (24x7x365) and possess multiple language skills sets. The facility contains voice over IP (VoIP) phone switch network which support seamless transfer of calls and data securely across all VMC facilities in North America, Europe and Asia.

"This opening represents a significant business milestone for us," said Glenn Hoogerwerf, chief operating officer of VMC. "A formal presence in Toronto strengthens our global footprint and showcases our services, further positioning us for expansion throughout North America."

Built specifically for VMC, this is the first space in Canada wholly owned by the company. Located near the Toronto airport in the Skyway Corporate Centre at 10 Kelfield Street, the facility brings together VMC personnel from several locations in the greater Toronto area to support the company's existing business interests in Ontario.
