VMS Ventures Inc. to Fly VTEM Airborne Survey Over Nickel Properties in the Lynn Lake Mining Camp, Manitoba

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 20, 2007) - VMS Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:VMS) ("the Company") is pleased to announce that it has contracted Geotech Ltd. of Aurora Ontario to use its high definition, deep penetrating airborne geophysical VTEM technology to survey the Company's prospective nickel properties in the Lynn Lake, Manitoba mining camp. The survey will consist of 760 kilometers of flight lines and cover all of the Company's properties in the camp, a combined area of 38.83 square kilometers (15 sq miles).

VMS Ventures' claims cover 5 of 7 known Lynn Lake gabbroic plugs in the camp. The A and the El gabbroic plugs host the past producing Lynn Lake nickel mines and are now being explored by Independent Nickel Corporation (INI.V) and Western Areas NL (WSA.T) respectively.

Dr. George Gale, VP Exploration, states, "The VTEM (Versatile Time-Domain Electromagnetic) survey is the leading airborne geophysical system in use today and the system we have contracted to use at Lynn Lake is specifically designed for the detection of highly conductive massive sulphide deposits which typically host nickel mineralization like those historically mined in the Lynn Lake nickel mines. The VTEM technology has documented capabilities to detect highly conductive rock bodies to depths of up to 800 meters (2500 feet). To date, we have surveyed only a small portion of our entire Lynn Lake claim holdings and this will greatly accelerate our efforts in identifying prospective new targets for drilling."

VMS Ventures acquired its Lynn Lake properties in 2004, well ahead of the current boom in nickel exploration activity at Lynn Lake, and holds a significant land package in camp. The Company's claims comprise 4 separate groupings, Ralph Lake, Frazer Lake, Carr Lake and Norrie Lake, which cover a total area of 38.83 square kilometers making it the largest land position over the Lynn Lake gabbro bodies in the camp. The northern boundary of the Frazer Lake claim group comes within 200m of the claim which covers the "EL" mine which is reported in the Manitoba Governments Mineral Deposits Series as being 1,732,073 tonnes grading 2.07% nickel and 0.76% copper.

Lynn Lake Nickel Camp History:

Sherritt Gordon Mines Ltd. mined the Lynn Lake nickel-copper deposits from 1953-1976. The mined deposits were discovered in two mafic-ultramafic intrusive bodies, known as the "Main" and the "El" gabbroic plugs. The Main and El gabbroic plugs combined produced 20,151,146 tonnes of ore at an average grade of 1.023% Ni and 0.535% Cu from three mines over a 24 year period.

Lynn Lake is located in Northern Manitoba, 320 kilometres by road, northwest of INCO's (CVRD) (RIO:NSY) nickel smelter at Thompson and has significant infrastructure including an airport, all weather road access, hydroelectricity and a rail line. Manitoba was recently rated by the Fraser Institute of Vancouver, Canada as the best jurisdiction in the world for developing a mine.

About VTEM

The VTEM system employs a large, somewhat tent-shaped array that hangs from the underside of the helicopter, with a large outer loop at the bottom end. A current is sent through this outer loop, which energizes the ground, creating a secondary return EM field that is measured by the smaller, inner receiving loop and recorded digitally for analysis.

About Geotech

Geotech has conducted airborne electromagnetic geophysical surveys for more than two decades using their proprietary technology and has a long history of notable innovations. In January of 2006, the Geotech VTEM system won Mining Magazine's exploration-equipment award for 2005. The Company holds the option to earn a 100% interest in the claims subject to an NSR. All technical information in this release has been reviewed by Dr. George Gale, P.Eng, Vice President of Exploration VMS Ventures Inc.

VMS Ventures Inc. is focused primarily on acquiring, exploring and developing copper-zinc properties in the Flin Flon-Snow Lake VMS Belt. The Company also holds the largest package of land considered prospective for nickel-copper mineralization at Lynn Lake, historically, Canada's third largest nickel producing camp. The Company's project portfolio consists of the Snow Lake VMS project, the Lynn Lake Gabbros nickel-copper project, the South Bay nickel-copper-cobalt PGE property, and the Eden Lake Carbonatite Complex, Specialty Metals property. All VMS Ventures Inc. properties are located in the mining friendly province of Manitoba, Canada.
