VMTurbo Announces General Availability of Its VMTurbo Monitor and VMTurbo Host Reporter

VMTurbo Releases Two New Appliances Out of Its Virtualization Management Suite

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - August 31, 2010) -  VMTurbo, Inc., a virtualization management technology leader, announced today the general availability of two products in its Management Suite, the VMTurbo Monitor and the VMTurbo Host Reporter for VMware ESX Server and vSphere.

VMTurbo Monitor is a free product that provides instant inventory visibility and key performance metrics relevant to ensuring reliable workload and application performance in virtual environments.

The VMTurbo Monitor enables administrators to better control infrastructure performance by providing direct line-of-sight into over and under-utilized resources, excessive swapping/ballooning, excessive CPU ready time, storage IOPS throughput and disc space usage, network packets and throughput.

This line-of-sight capability is further enhanced by a powerful grouping feature which enables users to define views for resources which relate to specific applications, business units, customers or any other arbitrary group.

VMTurbo Host Reporter enables VMware administrators to detect emerging bottlenecks, identify resource waste, estimate capacity expansion needs and report findings to stakeholders that are interested in virtual infrastructure performance and utilization.

VMTurbo Host Reporter leverages the critical metrics collected by the VMTurbo Monitor to provide a comprehensive library of pre-defined reports as well as a custom reporting capability. Reports can be generated through a scheduling mechanism or on demand, and can be viewed online or provided via email subscription to the relevant interest groups.

Like the entire suite of VMTurbo products, VMTurbo Monitor and VMTurbo Host Reporter run within a single, shared virtual appliance, simplifying deployment and ongoing operation of the VMTurbo solution.

"Virtualization and cloud computing introduce new complexities to workload and application performance management. We hear this consistently from our customers, many of whom over-provision their virtual infrastructure to try and avoid performance bottlenecks, but still encounter user experience issues," said Shmuel Kliger, co-founder, president and CEO at VMTurbo. "VMTurbo provides IT administrators with a solution that simplifies the management of virtualized application and workload performance and that changes the economics of virtualization by eliminating wasted resources, increasing the percentage of applications that can be virtualized, and enabling scale out of virtual infrastructure without increasing operational or capital expenditures."

General availability:
The VMTurbo Monitor 1.0 is available immediately and free of charge for an unlimited use per license. Download the software at http://www.vmturbo.com/products/vmturbo-monitor/.
