NEW YORK, NY and WOLFSBURG, GERMANY--(Marketwire - Sep 21, 2012) - The international judges of the ARC Awards named the Volkswagen Annual Report 2011 the Grand Award winner in the Non-Traditional Annual Report category. The corporate publication entitled "Experience D(r)iversity." also won a special award: Out of 2,200 entries, it was the only annual report to be honored with a Best of Show trophy, thus becoming the world's best annual report in 2011. The accolades presented by US-based MerComm, Inc., the world's only independent awards organization, recognize outstanding achievements in the content and design of annual reports.

The ARC Awards were held for the 26th time this year. With entries from 60 countries, this is the world's largest competition for annual reports. The judges represent top level investor relations executives, financial executives, writers, designers, and photographers. Apart from content and design the annual reports are also ranked on how well the spirit of the organization is communicated.
Only a few days ago the iPad app version of the Volkswagen Annual Report was honored with the "Digital Communication Award." Furthermore, the print version won Gold in this year's "Best of Corporate Publishing" awards. The creative realization is the brainchild of the Mainz-based agency 3st kommunikation.
