HERNDON, VA--(Marketwire - Jun 27, 2012) - Volkswagen of America (VWoA) today announced the appointment of Don Stephenson to the position of Director, VW Brand After Sales in Herndon, Virginia.
In his new role, Stephenson, 56, will direct all parts, accessories and service initiatives for the VW brand. Additionally, his responsibilities will include developing and implementing cutting-edge strategies to improve parts and accessories market share and increase service retention. Service Business Development, Parts and Accessory Sales, Accessory Lifecycle and Development as well as Parts, Service and Accessory Marketing will report to Stephenson. Stephenson will report to Jonathan Browning, president and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
Stephenson brings more than 20 years of automotive experience to the position. He originally joined the Volkswagen Group of America in 2005 as the Director of the Audi Southern Region for Audi of America. During his tenure there, Stephenson directed the sales and after sales for 16 states and Puerto Rico. Under his direction, Audi regional sales increased 71% and market share increased 118%.

Prior to his time with Audi, Stephenson held director-level positions in sales, after sales and network development within the automotive industry at firms including Fleetwood Enterprises, Toyota Motor Corp and BMW North America. Stephenson earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Business from Duke University and attended Georgia State University for post-graduate work.
