Volkswagen Celebrates Canada's Next Top Ad Executives

AJAX, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 6, 2009) - Matt Daigle and Elizabeth-Ann McCleave were named Canada's Next Top Ad Executives in a national competition sponsored by Volkswagen Canada. The two University of New Brunswick MBA students topped a talented field of 143 teams from 36 Canadian business schools by developing an integrated real-world marketing campaign for Volkswagen's recently introduced 7-passenger minivan, the Routan.

Daigle and McCleave created an innovative campaign for the Routan that was "relevant, appropriate, and engaging" according to Volkswagen's Director of Marketing and Communications, Bruce Rosen. Plus, their campaign was bilingual, reflecting the needs of companies like Volkswagen that actively market to consumers across Canada.

As part of its sponsorship, Volkswagen Canada is offering each winner a new 2010 Golf of their own to drive as the top prize. Set to be introduced this fall in Canada, the 2010 Golf is the 6th generation of Volkswagen's all-time best-selling model. A perennially popular choice amongst Canadian university and college students, over 26 million Golfs have been sold worldwide since it was first introduced in 1974.
