Voltage Security Selected for Secure Messaging by Boston Medical Center

Cutting Edge Medical Center Selects Voltage SecureMail™ for Overall Low Cost of Ownership

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - August 14, 2007) - Voltage Security, Inc. (, a global leader in information encryption, announced today that Boston Medical Center has turned to Voltage to provide secure messaging for over 8000 users at the Center. Voltage SecureMail™, widely regarded as the easiest-to-use enterprise secure messaging solution, was selected because of its overall lowest cost of ownership when compared to traditional PKI-based approaches. Voltage SecureMail will be used to protect sensitive hospital information that is sent via email within the center as well as to external recipients.

Boston Medical Center selected Voltage SecureMail for the following attributes:

-- Stateless architecture, made possible by the award-winning Voltage
    IBE™ technology, which dramatically reduces the complexity associated
    with encryption;
-- Ability to easily add Boston Medical center-specific branding to
    encrypted email messages so recipients clearly recognize the sender;
--  Ability for quick, ad-hoc secure email creation and sending;
--  Clean integration with mobile devices such as the Blackberry;
-- And, the overall low costs associated with deployment, training,
    scalability and long-term management of solution.

"We looked at a variety of the solutions that are available on the market today and the management overhead and usability issues did not fit within our strategy for lowering costs of compliance as well as making it as easy to use as possible for our staff," said Brad Blake, director of information technology for Boston Medical Center. "When we saw the stateless architecture of the Voltage system and realized the simplicity it offered for our end users, we were very impressed with the pilot and are actively moving towards production deployment."

"Boston Medical Center is a first among equals when it comes to their commitment to providing the best information technology solutions for patients, doctors and staff," said Sathvik Krishnamurthy, president and CEO of Voltage Security. "Voltage again differentiated itself by dramatically lowering the costs for information encryption when compared to older, more traditional technologies."

"From an IT management standpoint, the last thing we needed was additional management overhead. The clear advantage of Voltage is that there is literally no overhead, and for users, it's incredibly easy to use," said Michael Leonard, messaging engineer at Boston Medical Center.
