Vormetric Joins New Microsoft SecureIT Alliance

Community of Technology Leaders to Improve Integration of Microsoft Enterprise Security Solutions

SANTA CLARA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 9, 2005 -- Vormetric Inc., a leading provider of security solutions for protecting sensitive information, today announced its membership in the SecureIT Alliance formed by Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), joining other industry leaders developing security solutions for the Microsoft platform.

The SecureIT Alliance was created to unite and expand security partnerships to enhance future product integration and refine best practices for product deployments. When publicly available early 2006, customers and partners gain access to a community site, which will include information on security solutions and provide a forum for collaborative dialogue.

Vormetric and its patented security system CoreGuard, mark an evolutionary progression in the way that data-at-rest is protected, accessed, and verified. CoreGuard secures data-at-rest through the use of encryption, access controls and host integrity protection. It provides audit and reporting of all accesses to protected data for forensics purposes or proof of compliance. CoreGuard operates at the file-level, thereby remaining transparent to applications, database management systems, file systems and storage infrastructures, providing a manageable global information protection system with remarkable simplicity and cost efficiencies.

"Vormetric is honored to serve as one of the founding members of the SecureIT Alliance and be recognized as a leading enterprise encryption and data protection vendor," said Reed Taussig, President & CEO. "We believe involvement in this new industry initiative is an important step toward addressing the growing need for higher-performing security solutions. We are pleased to join this group of industry leaders that will drive collaboration to ensure our customers have access to the latest information that will address their security-related requirements."

"Microsoft is pleased to have Vormetric join the SecureIT Alliance," said Bruce Burns, Senior Director at Microsoft Corporation. "Having Vormetric in the alliance will help ensure their solutions are well integrated with the Microsoft platform."
