DURANGO, CO--(Marketwire - Jun 21, 2012) - Durango has been selected by Outside, America's leading active-lifestyle publication, as a finalist in its search to determine the best Outside town in America. This year, for its 35th anniversary issue in October, Outside teamed up with the environmental non-profit American Rivers and contest sponsor Good N Natural. They have identified the top 10 river towns in the U.S. and are calling on the public to help select the best one from a pool of ten finalists in the Best Town Ever Facebook app.

Durango's plethora of outdoor adventures feature high mountain rivers and lakes for kayaking, fishing, boating, walking and bike paths, and riverfront parks. Combined with a positive environmental story, this small Colorado mountain town is a water playground.
