Vote for Ontario's Worst Road

Annual Campaign Gets Underway Today

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 6, 2016) - With Spring officially here and the snow almost all gone, road imperfections are in clear view giving drivers a front row seat to crater-sized potholes and teeth-rattling car rides. That makes it the perfect time of year to kick off Ontario's Worst Roads Campaign. Beginning today, CAA North & East Ontario (CAA NEO) is giving road users the chance to voice their opinion and vote for the road they feel is in urgent need of repair.

"Road infrastructure across the province is a top of mind concern for many Ontarians," says Christina Hlusko, president and CEO of CAA NEO. "It is no secret that road conditions like potholes can put driver safety at risk, cause serious vehicle damage, result in costly repair bills and impact traffic congestion."

Last year's campaign received a strong response, garnering nominations for more than 2,000 roads from across the province. Algonquin Boulevard West in Timmins Ontario took the number one spot, receiving more votes than any other top road in the history of the campaign. CAA NEO is looking to build on last year's achievements by encouraging Ontarians in every community, rural or urban, to cast their vote and have their voices heard.

Drivers are also encouraged to give feedback on traffic congestion, poor timing of traffic signals, confusing road signs, as well as pedestrian and cycling safety.

Voting is open until April 29 and can be done online by visiting www.CAAWorstRoads.ca.

CAA NEO provides roadside assistance to Members, along with an extensive array of travel and insurance services designed to suit the individual needs, wants and expectations of its Members.
