Voter Information Cards Are in the Mail

Registered electors in Guelph (Ontario), Saint-Lambert (Quebec) and Westmount-Ville-Marie (Quebec) should receive the cards by Wednesday, August 20

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 13, 2008) -

- Elections Canada has mailed over 200,000 personalized voter information cards to electors in Guelph (Ontario), Saint-Lambert (Quebec) and Westmount-Ville-Marie (Quebec) who are on the lists of electors.

- An elector in Guelph, Saint-Lambert or Westmount-Ville-Marie who does not receive a voter information card by August 20, or who receives a card with incorrect information, should contact his or her local Elections Canada office no later than 6:00 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday, September 2.

- Electors in Guelph, Saint-Lambert or Westmount-Ville-Marie who receive a card for a deceased person or someone unknown at that address should also contact their local Elections Canada office.

"The voter information card provides electors with the address and hours of their polling station and how to contact Elections Canada," says Chief Electoral Officer Marc Mayrand. "Electors need to remember that the card provides information and is not an identification document."

Elections Canada is an independent body set up by Parliament.
