vRad Congratulates Its CMO, Dr. Pat Basu, for Election to the Council on Foreign Relations and Appointment to the Illinois State Board of Health

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - Jul 17, 2012) - Virtual Radiologic (vRad), a technology-enabled national radiology practice and the largest telemedicine company in the world, congratulates its Chief Medical Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Pat Basu, MD, for his election to the Council on Foreign Relations and his recent appointment to the Illinois State Board of Health.

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), founded in 1921, is an independent nonpartisan membership organization, think tank and publisher with more than 4,500 members worldwide. The CFR brings together a diverse group of members and resources to expand interest and understanding of foreign policy choices and issues.

Basu, a former White House Fellow and Stanford University faculty physician, was also recently appointed by the Governor to the Illinois State Board of Health which advises the Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health in meeting health objectives for the state, developing policy, assessing needs and assuring access to services for public health emergencies and other health hazards.
