VSPC Is on the Move: Subsidiary Files Patent Application on Cartridge Connection Valve for Micro Fuel Cell! October 10, 2006

NOTE TO EDITORS: The Following Is an Investment Opinion Being Issued by Wall Street Capital Funding.

WESTON, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 10, 2006 -- Wall Street News Alert's "stocks to watch" this morning are: VIASPACE Inc. (OTCBB: VSPC), Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SUNW), Amkor Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMKR) and Finisar Corporation (NASDAQ: FNSR).

Once again, VIASPACE Inc. (OTCBB: VSPC) may definitely be a target of aggressive investors and day traders this morning! Yesterday after the stock markets closed, the company, dedicated to commercializing proven technologies from NASA and the US Department of Defense, issued a press release announcing that its subsidiary, Direct Methanol Fuel Cell Corporation (DMFCC), has filed a provisional patent application entitled Connection Device Valve for Micro Fuel Cell Power Units.

News of the provisional patent application should get the attention of investors! DMFCC focuses on producing methanol fuel cartridges that will provide the energy source for laptop computers, cell phones and other portable devices to be powered by direct methanol fuel cells.

A micro fuel cell will produce electricity as long as fuel is provided to the fuel cell. Under safety regulations published by the International Electrotechnical Commission, the fuel must be contained in a safe, sealed container which is known as the fuel cartridge. A disposable fuel cartridge is connected to the fuel cell through a coupling device and valve which dispenses the fuel to the fuel cell. One valve is on the fuel cell and the mating valve is on the cartridge. The valves must be designed not to leak while the fuel cell is in operation, while the cartridge is separated from the fuel cell, and during the connection and disconnection of cartridges on the fuel cell. This DMFCC patent addresses the miniature valve to be placed on the fuel cell.

Wall Street News Alert is placing Aggressive Investors on alert to monitor the progress of VIASPACE! "Direct Methanol Fuel Cell Corporation has licensed over 100 patents on the fuel cell from Caltech," reports Dr. Carl Kukkonen, CEO of both VIASPCE and DMFCC. "We are also developing significant additional patents as part of our internal cartridge development program. Our large collection of intellectual property is an important asset and differentiator for the company."

Fuel cells are expected to gain a substantial market share because they offer longer operating time as compared to current lithium ion batteries and may be instantaneously recharged by simply replacing the disposable fuel cartridge. It has been announced that direct methanol fuel cells are being developed for portable electronic applications by companies such as Samsung and LG in Korea, and by Toshiba, NEC, Hitachi and Sanyo in Japan.

Last week the company announced that (DMFCC), signed an amended cartridge design and certified manufacturer agreement with Elentec Co., Ltd., which extends their current agreement until 2011. Elentec is a leading Korean supplier of lithium ion battery packs for portable electronic devices and OEMs worldwide.

Originally founded in 1998 with the objective of transforming proven space and defense technologies from NASA and the Department of Defense into hardware and software solutions that solve today's complex problems. VIASPACE benefits from important patent and software licenses from Caltech, which manages NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Last week the company made several important announcements including that it has filed a patent application on its concealed explosive device detection technology with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. According to the company, the application of the VIASPACE technology is directed at the homeland security and defense markets, but can also be applied to commercial applications to detect theft and pilferage. Defense applications include suicide bomber detection at distances up to 300 feet away. Homeland security applications include scanning entrances to critical infrastructure such as government buildings and nuclear power plants; transportation facilities including airports, docks and subway entrances; border crossings; and other high traffic locations such as sporting events, concerts and public gatherings.

This continues to be one to watch!

Prior to the latest press release, the stock closed yesterday at around Seventy Four cents a share.
