Justin Bieber Ousts Rihanna From First Place in U.S. Video Searches

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 15, 2011) - Vuclip, the world's largest independent mobile video service, today unveiled its monthly Global Video Insights Report, which captures trends for the month of August.

This month's study unearthed a shift in search for mobile videos, although most spots are still held by popular celebrities. The report also unveils the five top viewed mobile clips for the month.

Vuclip has become the largest independent mobile video service by securing exclusive local content in major international markets and currently delivers more than 15 million videos daily to consumers in more than 200 countries.

Vuclip's business offers a unique perspective on global trends and regional trends in search and viewing habits, as well as the top devices in use. Vuclip's monthly Global Video Insights Report is a resource for those who watch consumer trends, such as advertisers, mobile carriers, content providers and the mainstream public.

By way of contrast, the top searches in July of 2011 were:

1. Rihanna

3. Justin Bieber
4. Britney Spears
5. Beyoncé
6. Selena Gomez
7. Shakira
8. Naruto
9. Lady Gaga
10. Anna Kournikova

With the top two a couple of convincing fakes, this month's top five mobile videos in the U.S. in August 2011 included:

1. iPhone 5 Concept Features by Aatma Studio, a 3D animation and digital content studio
2. Adios Moto directed by Felix Jolenes
3. Video Gas Station Worker Strangled in Gas Hose by Car Drive Off shot by a gas station security camera
4. She without Arm, He without Leg - Ballet -- Hand in Hand which includes choreography by Zhaio Limim
5. Largest Dead Snake Ever Found, Over 50 Feet
