Vuclip Survey Determines Overwhelming Number of Global Mobile Video Consumers Prefer Regionalized Content

Users From Asia to Africa Weigh In on App Preferences and Localized Content

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwired - June 01, 2015) - Vuclip today released the findings of a survey it conducted of more than 8,500 users from Asia to Africa to determine the importance of videos on mobile in their native language. Respondents weighed in strongly that they preferred a single over-the-top (OTT) app for finding both regional and international videos, and that they wanted to be able to navigate videos using their native language. They also noted the importance of videos being in their native language. The results were all gathered this month from respondents in Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.

"Video breaks down barriers between people and regions, because it is inclusive of different languages and cultures," said Arun Prakash, COO for Vuclip. "By ensuring content is in native languages for as many regions as possible, and that the app people use speaks their local language throughout the interface, we can bring a familiarity and welcoming nature to all of this amazing content from around the world."
