VVC Exploration Corporation Starts Drilling on Sta Valeria Property

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 6, 2009) - VVC EXPLORATION CORPORATION (TSX VENTURE:VVC)(FRANKFURT:V7S)(BERLIN:V7S) ("VVC" or the "Company") announces the commencement of diamond drilling on the Santa Valeria Property ("Sta Valeria") in Chihuahua State, Mexico.

Landdrill International Inc. (TSX VENTURE:LDI) moved a drill rig onto the Sta Valeria Property last week from its regional office in Hermosillo, Mexico, following the issuance by the Mexican Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the required drilling permit.

Detailed geological mapping and preliminary sampling on the Property was completed earlier this year and 3 structures were identified. As previously reported on March 25, 2009, some of the better samples, taken 10 meters below surface in the mineralized zone, returned values ranging from 180 to 319 g/t Ag, 1.53 to 2.84 % Pb and 1.47 to 6.5 % Zn.

"We are very optimistic that the current drilling will confirm potentially exploitable deposits of silver bearing mineralization on the Property" said Daniel Grenier, President of VVC.

The Company is also completing the underground sampling in two old shafts (No. 1 and No. 7) and is starting immediately the first phase of drilling recommended in a recent internal report by Andre Ciesielski, P.Geo., Independent Qualified Person.

The main structure hosts two significant mineralized zones, known as Veta 1 and Veta 2. It is oriented east-west and dips 80 degrees to the south. It has been tested by 7 shallow vertical exploration pits which indicate a 20 to 50 m thickness with local, intense alteration and brecciation, and quartz-calcite-manganese-barite veining and stockwork.

Along this structure, which is localized along the contact of the rhyolite and calcitic sedimentary rocks, the thickness of the zone(s) varies between two and four meters.

The technical aspects of this news release were reviewed by independent (QP) Andre Ciesielski, D.Sc., P. Geo.

The extensive press coverage on the H1N1 Influenza has alerted people all over the world as to the potential seriousness of this illness. VVC is not affected by the Influenza in Mexico, because the drilling is being carried out away from populated areas. The Company is constantly monitoring the status of the Influenza and taking all the necessary precautions for its on-site personnel.
