Vyatta Network OS Provides Core Routing and Security Infrastructure for the InteropNet

Vyatta Delivers Next Generation Routing and Security for InteropNet at Interop Las Vegas

BELMONT, CA--(Marketwire - May 2, 2011) - Vyatta, the leader in software-based networking for physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures, today announced that the Vyatta Network OS and the Vyatta 3500 series appliances will be the core routing and security infrastructure for one of the three InteropNet datacenters supporting the live show network. The InteropNet is deployed during Interop Las Vegas -- the world's largest and most comprehensive independent IT event happening May 8-12, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

The InteropNet program is a key feature of Interop and is built in collaboration with hand selected, innovative vendors and volunteers, like Vyatta, who come together to create a completely interoperable network using the industry's most cutting edge technology. The InteropNet is a leading example of how to design, deploy and manage a multi-vendor, converged network. It is a platform for the introduction of new technologies and utilizes "best practice" methodologies to provide a viable demonstration and reference model of networks that meet current and future business needs.

"For 25 years, Interop has brought leading vendors together to build a showcase network to foster interoperability and speed the adoption of emerging technologies," said Lenny Heymann, Interop general manager. "At a time of tremendous change across the industry, this year's InteropNet participants play a key role in highlighting innovation and giving Interop attendees the confidence to incorporate the latest solutions into their own networks."

The InteropNet will be a live demonstration of the capabilities of Vyatta's next generation, software approach to network connectivity and security. The Vyatta 3500 series appliances that will be powering the Denver collocation facility combine Vyatta's platform independent Network OS and off-the-shelf x86 hardware based on Intel quad-core processors. The Vyatta system will be performing IPv6 BGP & OSPF routing and stateful firewalling.

"Vyatta is proud to be selected to provide routing and security for the InteropNet," said Tom McCafferty, vice president of marketing at Vyatta. "Our selection this year, among industry giants such as Cisco and HP, validates Vyatta's solutions as competitive alternatives to hardware-based networking, and as the solution of the future for physical, virtual and cloud-based networks."

In addition to sponsoring the InteropNet, Vyatta will also be demonstrating the multiple applications of its Vyatta Network OS software routing and security solutions at the Interop Expo from May 10-12. For demonstrations, stop by booth #815 in the Cloud and Virtualization Zone.
