W5 Networks Adds Seasoned Executives to Management Team

Jerry Butler and Nello Franco Join W5

FREMONT, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 24, 2005 -- W5 Networks, provider of wireless applications for the retail industry, announced today that Jerry Butler has joined the company as Vice President of Engineering. Butler brings 34 years of engineering and product development leadership experience in the development and delivery of a variety of computer and communications systems.

Butler has a strong background in the development of business critical computing and communications platforms for distributed processing applications in large retail and financial networks. Butler held key positions at NCR Corporation, including Vice President of Engineering under NCR's DecisioNet and Point of Sale Systems Development. While with NCR, Butler developed and grew a new wireless shelf label business and led the revitalization of NCR's POS business for the retail industry. Prior to joining W5, Butler was the Vice President of Engineering, Wi-Fi Infrastructure at Agere Systems/Proxim Corporation. During his tenure, Agere achieved several first to market product deliveries during a period of rapid evolution of the Wi-Fi business.

Additionally, W5 announced that Nello Franco joined the company as Vice President of Services. Franco brings over 15 years of executive experience scaling professional services organizations and developing loyal customer bases. Early in his career, Franco helped build a systems integration company, Altro Solutions, which was later sold to Burntsand. While at Altro, he architected and managed the development of cutting-edge industry applications for large grocery and pharmaceutical distribution companies. Before joining W5 Networks, Franco was Vice President of Services and Support at Tacit Software. While at Tacit, Franco built strategic relationships with systems integrators and users, and developed processes for technical support issue management, escalation and resolution.
