Wabash National Awards $32,000 in Scholarships

LAFAYETTE, IN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 21, 2005 -- Wabash National Corp. (NYSE: WNC) awarded four students with four-year scholarships as part of the company's annual scholarship program which, combined, totaled $32,000. Scholarships were presented at an awards ceremony held on June 14 at the company's headquarters in Lafayette, Ind.

2005 scholarship recipients included Andrew Bandy, a graduate of Harrison High School, West Lafayette, Ind.; Martha Cortes, a graduate of Twin Lakes High School, Monticello, Ind.; NiAllen Macy, a graduate of the Indiana Academy, Muncie, Ind.; and Thomas Eline, a graduate of Zionsville High School, Zionsville, Ind.

"Wabash National places a high value on continuing education for our associates and their families," said Tim Monahan, Wabash National Senior Vice President of Human Resources. "The annual scholarship program reflects our commitment to ensuring that children of Wabash National associates have the opportunity to continue their pursuit of higher education."

The Wabash National annual scholarship program, which provides recipients with $1,000 per semester for up to four years, is awarded exclusively to dependents of Wabash National associates to provide financial assistance to outstanding students who demonstrate leadership, academic excellence, and strong extra curricular involvement.

Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee headed by Dr. Notary of the Tippecanoe School Corporation. Selection is based on the following criteria: grade point average, SAT scores, and extra curricular activities. Recipients must be children of Wabash National associates and high school seniors enrolled in an approved college, university, or technical school.
