WABCO and Team Allgauer Continue Successful Partnership in European Truck Racing Championship

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM--(Marketwire - April 14, 2011) - WABCO Holdings Inc. (NYSE:WBC) (www.wabco-auto.com), a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, today announced that the company will continue its successful long-term partnership with Truck Race Team Allgäuer in the European Truck Racing Championship, the industry's leading and most competitive truck racing contest worldwide. WABCO has been supplying Team Allgäuer with its most advanced, high performance braking technology since 2001.

During the 2011 season, WABCO is providing Team Allgäuer's race trucks with its breakthrough single-piston NG22MAX™ air disc brakes that feature the industry's most effective weight-to-performance ratio for heavy duty trucks. WABCO also supplies its full braking system including Tristop® Cylinders, one of the most reliable piston-type spring brake cylinders on the market, as well as an advanced multi-functional air processing unit.

"We are proud that WABCO continues to supply our race trucks with its most advanced braking technology, particularly NG22MAX air disc brakes – weighing only 86 pounds (39 kilograms) including brake pads – the lightest air disc brake of its kind," said Egon Allgäuer, team leader. "WABCO braking technology combines superb engineering, high performance and optimum reliability to help set new standards in world class competition."

"Team Allgäuer powerfully demonstrates WABCO's technology leadership, especially as we expand our breakthrough single-piston air disc braking technology into heavy duty truck applications," said Kurt Lehmann, WABCO Vice President, Engineering. "Together, we outperform in the racing arena while also driving innovation for systems and products that make commercial vehicles safer and more efficient for the benefit of customers in every region of the world."

For the 2011 season, team leader Egon Allgäuer presented a new driver in his team: Oliver Stuart (United Kingdom) has won the European Truck Racing Championship in 2004 and the British Truck Championship for an unprecedented ten times in the past decade.

In its 27th season, the European Truck Racing Championship will feature ten races across eight European countries. For the first time, the Championship's calendar includes a race in Donnington, United Kingdom. The famous British race track is also the venue for the season's start.
