Walden University Champions Positive Social Change in Multimedia Campaign

New Campaign Features "Advanced Degrees Advance the Quality of Life" Theme

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - August 21, 2009) - For nearly 40 years, Walden University has helped working professionals reach academic and career goals while making meaningful impacts in their communities. The online university's new multimedia campaign celebrates this mission and conveys how Walden programs contribute to career advancement and the ability to make valuable contributions toward positive social change.

More than 33,000 students are currently enrolled in graduate and undergraduate programs at Walden, guided by the belief that they can personally effect positive social change across communities, countries and continents.

Walden's television campaign features vignettes that represent Walden students bringing change to an urban neighborhood, a classroom, a hospital, and an alternative energy project while moving forward in their careers, concluding with the theme: Walden University. An online university where advanced degrees advance the quality of life. The multimedia campaign also includes print and online advertising, and a video contest where students and alumni can submit short videos describing how the online university helped them make positive changes in their careers, their lives, or the lives of others.

"Why do working professionals committed to making a difference in the world choose Walden University? They enroll here because they want to advance their careers while effecting positive social change in their neighborhoods, workplaces and industries, and in the lives of others," said Jonathan Kaplan, president of Walden University. "Our campaign resonates with those seeking a higher education that also delivers a higher purpose."
