Walk for the 22nd Year with the Farha Foundation at ÇA MARCHE 2014

Join the Foundation for the most important HIV/AIDS fundraising walk in Quebec

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 10, 2014) - The Farha Foundation, Quebec's leading HIV/AIDS fundraising organization, officially launches ÇA MARCHE 2014. On September 27, 2014, the Farha Foundation will once again host the 22nd edition of its largest fundraising event, ÇA MARCHE, a walk that aims to end discrimination and bring the community together. This community gathering in support of HIV/AIDS will take place on Saturday morning for the first time ever!

Starting from Parc Émilie-Gamelin (corner St-Catherine East and St-Hubert), participants will follow a seven-kilometer route through the streets of downtown Montreal. The Foundation is challenging everyone in the community, young and old, two and four-legged friends included, to join the Farha Foundation in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

"ÇA MARCHE supports our commitment to the HIV/AIDS community in Quebec. The funds raised will be directed to prevention and education programs and to those affected by the disease," states Linda Farha, Farha Foundation Spokesperson. " The campaign runs until December 1, 2014 and I urge our community to come out, help us show their support; making a difference in the lives of over 20,000 men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS."

The Farha Foundation would like to thank the sponsors whose contributions make ÇA MARCHE 2014 possible: our Gold Sponsors, Bristol-Myers Squibb Canada; CTV, Gilead Sciences Canada, Zenergy Communications, Rouge FM, Virgin Radio; Our Silver Sponsor, AbbVie; and our Bonze Sponsor Maisonneuve. We are also extremely grateful to our supporting partners, volunteers and dedicated staff.

Lead the change; walk with us in the streets of downtown Montreal on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Invite your family, friends and colleagues and form a team to support the fight against HIV/AIDS. Register now at camarche.ca!

ÇA MARCHE (camarche.ca), one of the first Farha Foundation events to emerge in 1993, is an annual walkathon of 7 kilometers, gathering thousands of people aiming at raising funds and sensitizing the population to the HIV/AIDS cause.
To maximize awareness of the event, the Farha Foundation asks you to spread the word to as many people as possible. In doing so, you will contribute directly to helping those living with HIV/AIDS, a disease that currently infects as many as two people a day in Quebec. Bring your family and friends to inspire our community to support the cause. Sign up now at camarche.ca.

The Farha Foundation is Quebec's leading fundraising organization committed to helping men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS. The events organized by the Farha Foundation also serve to raise public awareness of the AIDS pandemic.
Since 1992, the Farha Foundation has distributed close to $9.3 million to 76 organizations throughout Quebec that provide services to HIV/AIDS victims (housing, medication, food, palliative care, homecare, etc.), as well as HIV/AIDS prevention and education programs. An advisory committee determines which organizations the Foundation supports and ensures that the funds are put to the best possible use.
