Walk, Wheel, Roll or Run and Help Make Muscles Move! Join the 2011 Hamilton Walk for Muscular Dystrophy

HAMILTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 26, 2011) - The annual Walk for Muscular Dystrophy will be hosted by the Hamilton volunteer planning committee on Sunday June 12, 2011 at Bayfront Park. Festivities begin at 10:00 a.m. with participant registration and the walk, wheel, roll or run begins at 11:00 a.m.

The Walk forMuscular Dystrophy is a fun event that the entire family can participate in, regardless of fitness level. The celebration includes activities for kids, snacks and refreshments, and even a visit from local Fire Fighters. New this year, come out and meet the Hamilton Walk for Muscular Dystrophy Community Partners who will have great information and resources and maybe even some giveaways! The Walk is fully accessible and participants can choose from a 1km or 5km route.

Your support will help those living with a neuromuscular disorder in your community like Ann Marie Fortino & Rose Di Giovanni, this year's Hamilton Walk for Muscular Dystrophy Ambassadors. The Hamilton Walk for Muscular Dystrophy brings together local community members and businesses but also families that are affected by neuromuscular disorders. Rose describes "There is such an overwhelming show of support and that truly affects the families in a positive way." For Ann Marie, "The walk provides my family and I the opportunity to come to together to raise money for the cause and also to meet new people with some of the same challenges and generate relationships and friendships."
