Walk, Wheel, Roll or Run and Help Make Muscles Move! Join the 2011 Ottawa Walk for Muscular Dystrophy

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 18, 2011) - The annual Walk for Muscular Dystrophy will be hosted by the Ottawa volunteer planning committee on Sunday June 5, 2011 at Ottawa City Hall. Festivities begin at 10:00 a.m. with participant registration and the walk, wheel, roll or run begins at 11:00 a.m.

The Walk forMuscular Dystrophy is a fun event that the entire family can participate in, regardless of fitness level. The celebration includes activities for kids, snacks and refreshments. The Walk is fully accessible and participants can choose from a 1km or 5km route.

Your support will help those living with a neuromuscular disorder in your community like The Lalonde Family, this year's Ottawa Walk for Muscular Dystrophy Ambassadors. The Lalonde Family understand the value of the money raised through the Walk for Muscular Dystrophy. These funds have "helped Zacharie with new equipment like a laptop for his fine motor skills, our vehicle modifications and a ramp to get into our house." describes Zacharie's parents Stéphane and France. The family are active fundraisers themselves, holding events to raise awareness and gain sponsorship at the schools where Stéphane and France are teachers, and where their children attend.

Make a difference by registering for the Ottawa Walk for Muscular Dystrophy and help raise funds to support those like The Lalonde Family living with a neuromuscular disorder in your community.
