Wall Street Futures Featured Company Mercantile Gold (Pink Sheets: MGCP) to Stake Uranium Claims

NOTE TO EDITORS: The Following Is an Investment Opinion Being Issued by The Wall Street Small Cap Reporter.

DALLAS, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 15, 2005 -- Wall Street Futures, a leading source of news and information for small cap investors, continues its coverage of Mercantile Gold Company (OTC: MGCP) as this week's "stocks to watch" in the mining and mineral space.

MGCP is a mineral exploration and development company that acquires, discovers and develops world-class deposits of gold, silver, and other minerals. As appropriate, the company enters into agreements to sell or joint venture these deposits to major international mining companies.

Yesterday, MGCP announced that its generative exploration program has identified an area of open ground in Nevada likely to contain substantial uranium mineralization, based on analysis of aeromagnetic surveys published by the U.S. Geological Survey. The project area is located between past-producing uranium mines, and the company reports the launch of a major claim-staking program for the area. The company has hired a claim-staking crew specifically tasked with staking at least 60 unpatented mining claims on the federal lands.

According to The World Nuclear Association, global demand for uranium is growing steadily at .5 percent per year, and it is expected to remain at that level for the foreseeable future, with emerging markets driving much of the new consumption. However, reliability of supply is becoming a critical concern for many of the world's leading uranium-consuming countries -- like the United States.

Shares of MGCP closed Thursday at $0.12, flat on the day and currently trading near their 52-week low of $0.07. The stock is up slightly since our last coverage of the company on Tuesday. If successful in its latest venture, MGCP could be poised for incredible growth in the months to come.

Wall Street Futures' is also monitoring these "stocks to watch" in the mining sector: BHP Billiton Limited (NYSE: BHP), ALCOA, Inc. (NYSE: AA), and Phelps Dodge Corporation (NYSE: PD).
