Waller Boosts Franchise Practice With Addition of Industry Veteran

NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwired - Dec 5, 2013) -  Waller, Nashville's oldest and largest law firm, announced that Ted R. Habermann has joined the firm as Counsel in Nashville where he advises clients on all aspects of franchise law. Habermann has worked with franchisors ranging from start-up systems to national franchise companies for more than 20 years.

Before joining Waller, Habermann was Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel for Shoney's, Inc. (now Sholand, LLC) working closely with both the Shoney's and Captain D's restaurant chains operated by Shoney's, Inc. Habermann also served as General Counsel and Secretary for Servpro Industries, Inc., a national provider of fire and water restoration and mold mitigation and remediation services which currently has a network of more than 1,600 franchises.

At Waller, Habermann provides counsel on the full spectrum of franchise regulatory and relationship matters, including structuring franchise programs; drafting franchise agreements and disclosure documents; counseling on federal and state regulatory compliance issues, franchise transfers, terminations, renewals, mergers and acquisitions; assisting in the negotiation of transactions and resolution of disputes; and responding to state and federal administrative inquiries and investigations.

Habermann earned his J.D. at Valparaiso University School of Law and his B.S. at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee, Indiana and American Bar Associations. He is a member of the Forum Committee on Franchising of the American Bar Association.
