Walleye™ Technologies and Renesas to Demonstrate the Millimeter Wave Camera Capable of "Seeing" Into and Through Solid Objects

Wide Range of Applications From Consumer Home Repair to Security Imaging for Homeland Security

SOMERVILLE, MA--(Marketwire - October 7, 2010) - Walleye Technologies (www.walleyetechnologies.com), in collaboration with Renesas, will demonstrate its millimeter wave camera technology at the Renesas developers' conference in Garden Grove, California on October 11, 2010. The conference will be the first time the camera has been shown to the general public.

The Walleye camera incorporates the Renasas microcontroller to process the electronic and optical circuitry. "Two of our keys goals for the camera were to make it a disruptive technology for the consumer/DIY market with a competitive retail price point. The Renesas technology has allowed us to achieve our goals," says David Holbrook, CTO.

The camera is capable of "seeing" into and through solid objects and showing the image on an LCD screen and that can be readily displayed, stored, analyzed, and transmitted. The Walleye imaging system works like a battery-powered digital "camera" that uses invisible wavelengths to see into and through objects. The camera combines proprietary optical components with millimeter wave circuitry to create images of objects behind opaque materials.

Renesas Technology is the leading global supplier of microcontrollers. "Walleye's product offers a powerful demonstration of the Renesas technical and pricing flexibility for large consumer market applications" said Ali Sebt, executive vice president of the System LSI business unit of Renasas Technology America, Inc.
