Walnut Creek De La Housaye Attorneys to Present February 24 Seminar on Business Owners Avoiding Litigation and Whether to Revise Estate Plans

WALNUT CREEK, CA--(Marketwire - February 8, 2011) - Two attorneys with De La Housaye & Associates, the Walnut Creek commercial litigation firm, will present a complimentary seminar on two important topics, "How Your Corporate Counsel Becomes Your Company's Ally -- Avoiding Claims" as well as "Whether to Revise Existing Estate Plans." Brendan J. Dooley, senior trial attorney, and Christopher D. Jew, associate estate and probate attorney, will make the presentations at 6PM, February 24 at the firm's San Francisco office, Stock Exchange Tower, 155 Sansome Street, Ste 620. Reservations are required for attendance.

The seminar focuses on two significant legal issues facing business owners. Such questions as how to best position yourself and your company to avoid legal claims, what steps are necessary to control expensive litigation from the other side, and what procedures to use in managing your involvement in litigation will be addressed in Dooley's presentation. Mr. Jew's presentation discussion will focus on estates; topics include updating existing estate plans and how new laws may affect an estate.

"It is so important for business owners to know how to work with their corporate counsel first to avoid expensive claims; and if that's not successful, so that they spend an appropriate amount of time on litigation issues, but not so much that it drains the time spent on their current job. And when it comes to estate plans, people do not know whether to amend them or leave as written, given the recent changes in tax laws," said Angela De La Housaye, founder of De La Housaye & Associates. "These attorneys will present solid information that can save a lot of time and money when it comes to navigating these legal questions."

This seminar is one of a series of legal seminars presented by De La Housaye & Associates attorneys and other professionals. The next event is a seminar covering three topics: How to Best Position Your Company to Avoid a Lawsuit, Practical Estate Planning Issues, and How to Position Your Company to Avoid an Audit. It is scheduled for March 23 at the De La Housaye offices in Walnut Creek at 6PM.

The February 24 talk is complimentary, but space is limited and reservations are required. Contact Heather Larsen at 925-944-3300 or heather@delahousayelaw.com for information or to sign up.
