WAM Development Group Celebrates Grand Opening of Emerald Hills Centre in Sherwood Park

Emerald Hills Centre Helps Raise Community Business Profile in Sherwood Park and Strathcona County

SHERWOOD PARK, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 4, 2012) - WAM Development Group (WAM), a North American leader in commercial real estate development, is pleased to announce the grand opening of Emerald Hills Centre in north Sherwood Park, Alberta. To celebrate the grand opening, WAM is hosting a family fun day event on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The public is invited to come down and check out the newly opened stores and enjoy an onsite carnival charging only $1 per ride from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Saffron Centre, a non-profit organization who provides therapeutic services to victims of trauma, abuse, and sexual violence. Guests can also enjoy a live band from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and later in the evening a drive-in cinema from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (Gates open at 7 p.m. Movie admission cost is a donation to the Edmonton Food Bank).

Along with WAM officials, Mayor Linda Osinchuk of Sherwood Park will kick the celebration off at noon with a speech and ribbon cutting ceremony.

Emerald Hills is an innovative retail development which began construction in 2011. WAM's goal for the 600,000 square foot centre was to set a new shopping standard by attracting an A-list lineup of major international, national and regional box and anchor tenants. By establishing the Centre as a new retail destination in north Sherwood Park and Strathcona County, the commute to Edmonton can be eliminated for many shoppers.
